About this Event
Join artist George Harding in conversation about his current exhibition, ‘Sea to See’, currently on show at the ORTUS Building just a short walk from Denmark Hill station. This exhibition is presented by Bethlem Gallery and is free to attend.
George will discuss the inspiration behind his collection of 14 sea and landscape paintings. Created during a camper van tour of South Devon and Dorset, the works showcase his ‘Plein Air’ technique – a French term referring to the practice of painting entire finished pictures outdoors.
"As an artist, I see my work as an integral part of my mental health recovery, celebrating and transcending these difficulties and differences through creativity. I aim to inspire others to explore arts healing power as a tool for self-expression and well-being."
This event is part of Bethlem Gallery's annual pop-up Art Fair at the ORTUS. George's paintings and calendars are available for purchase along with art and crafts from many of the gallery's other artists.
Maudsley Charity is a principal funder of Bethlem Gallery, which curates exhibitions at ORTUS, a building built and operated by the charity. ORTUS is an accessible building and everyone is welcome.
