For years, works by award-winning artist Cannupa Hanska Luger have been part of the NONAM collection in Zurich. On the occasion of his new role as artist-in-residence at the Verbier 3-D Foundation, he will visit the museum for a public artist talk.
Luger, born on the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, is a multidisciplinary artist. In his large-scale installations, sculptures, and performances, he links Indigenous worldviews with current social and ecological issues. His work has been shown internationally, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and most recently at the Shanghai Biennale.
The residency, which begins in summer 2025, is research-based and dedicated to the interplay of alpine landscape, ecological responsibility, and Indigenous knowledge. The goal is to develop a site-specific project that brings community, environment, and cultural heritage into contemporary dialogue.
The conversation at NONAM offers a unique opportunity to learn more about Luger's work and his new project in Switzerland.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
