Positive Space Tulsa Welcomes the 2024 Artist Residency and Exhibition Featuring June Kosloff (Queens, NY)
Positive Space Tulsa is excited to announce the 2024 Artist in Residence, June Kosloff (Queens, NY), and her exhibition, "Recipes for Life: The Lucky Bubby Cookbook." During the pandemic, artist June Kosloff shifted her studio painting practice to the streets. Exploring the counterculture of wheatpasting, June could respond with an immediacy to both universal and personal events. Populated with characters inspired by Kosloff and her relatives, and incorporating uplifting text, these works offer up a collection of “ingredients” that, combined, are the recipe that has made her the individual and artist that she is today.
About the Artist: June Kosloff is a mixed media artist based in Long Island City, Queens, NY. June attended the historic High School of Art & Design in NYC, holds a BALA from SUNY Purchase, and studied at the Art Students League of New York. As an artist June’s work encompasses a variety of media, including, but not limited to, silk screening, wheatpasting, monoprinting, painting and drawing.
"Recipes for Life: The Lucky Bubby Cookbook" will open 5-9pm, Saturday, May 4, 2024. The exhibit continues through May 25. Gallery hours during the exhibit: Thurs, 6-8pm; Fri, 5-9pm; Sat, 12pm-5pm and by appointment.
PLUS: FREE Community Wheatpasting Workshop with June Kosloff where you will learn about street art, the art of wheatpasting and then create your own artwork for our community wall.
