About this Event
The Artist Open Studio is an immersive gallery viewing and dance performance. The second exhibit in Raison D'être Dance Project's Artist Open Studio Series features the work of Nathan Norby. Nathan grew up in small town South Dakota before moving to Bozeman to pursue a degree in Film. Since graduating from Montana State University in 2016, he has been working in documentary film specializing in directing, cinematography, and drone work. His paintings shown in this open studio span over the past 15 years, averaging a painting a year. Each one represents an examination and reflection of a time and place, kind of like a journal. Some have been made in the plains of South Dakota, some in the mountains of Montana. All images are boiled down expressions from travel, landscapes, and dreams of future. RDE has created phrases and pieces inspired by this body of work currently installed in the gallery space at Ground Control, which will be performed at the event.
