"The ambiguity of the instrument is what attracts me", says A.J Seidner, a longtime veteran of the Austin music scene and accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist; "the fact that you can easily meld genres, like bossa nova and bluegrass, and they meet in the middle on one instrument, it gives freedom". Seidner, who has played in renowned acts such as Dead Tree Duo, Fire Drinks Grass, and the Awkward Jaybirds, is known equally for his musical eccentricity and awkward shyness. A fan of lyrical works stretching from Leonard Cohen to Maynard James Keenan, and an adamant reader of authors such as Rebecca Solinit, it's hard to put a finger on what A.J Seidner's ultimate message is. "We are complex beings, we are capable of many modes, many emotions, and many different perspectives on the same matter. I do my best to write with that in mind, that every viewpoint is an angle of the human experience. In my mind, there's not much difference between a song and a Psalm. Both speak to a perceived truth, and their existence is dependent on relevance."
