"Letters to the Unknown" with Resident Artist, Lex Marie
A Workshop @ the Innovation Studio
Friday, April 4 / 6:30-8:30pm
A hands-on mixed media postcard workshop where participants will create personalized postcards using collage and found objects. This session invites you to craft a visual message to someone you've lost, never met, or wish to remember, turning memory into art.
Make sure to drop in with enough time to explore and create-- at least 30 minutes .

About the Artist
Lex Marie (b. 1992, Prince George’s County, MD) is a multidisciplinary artist exploring personal and collective experiences within the African diaspora through painting, sculpture, and installation. Her work examines themes like adultification bias, food insecurity, and systemic inequities, as seen in her 2022 solo exhibition "Let Them Kids Be Kids" at MOCA Arlington.
She has exhibited at the Banneker-Douglass Museum, NIU Art Museum, and Susquehanna Art Museum, among others, and participated in residencies at MOCA Arlington and Artist Mother Studio x Red Dirt. A recent recipient of the S&R Evermay Washington Award, her work continues to reimagine everyday materials to challenge societal norms, engage young audiences, and spark meaningful dialogue.
