PACE invites artists to attend an information session for The Museum of Alternative History, an upcoming exhibition at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center.
About the Exhibition
In an age of AI, deep fakes, bots, and “alternative facts,” the line between reality and fiction is increasingly blurred. The Museum of Alternative History challenges artists to explore this territory by creating works that function as artifacts from a world that might have been—objects and stories that feel authentic, yet are entirely imagined.
Curated by lead artist Tim Guthrie and a committee, the exhibition will feature 15–20 artists across diverse mediums. Each work will be paired with a fictional but plausible narrative, prompting visitors to question how histories are written, rewritten, and manipulated. Dynamic signage will reveal the “real” stories behind the art, encouraging critical engagement with truth and fabrication.
