Henry Falzon (b. 1974) is a Maltese contemporary artist whose practice spans several decades. His artistic journey began in the early 1990s with black‑and‑white film photography and was preceded by a childhood spent sketching whimsical fantasy scenes. Early serious works emerged from plein‑air painting and later from studio‑based pastels. Today, his practice centres on oil‑on‑canvas, and the subject matter ranges from landscapes to figurative compositions and portraits.
A recurring thread in Falzon’s oeuvre is a deceptively simple narrative: he represents reality while infusing it with finely veiled, dream‑like alterations. This approach departs from the mundane and expected.
