Pull back the curtain on Risa Hricovsky’s “shag rug” ceramic wall sculptures and their visual trickery during this intimate demonstration. Don’t be fooled by your first look at her work! Those are not your grandmother’s shag rugs on the gallery walls.Watch how Hricovksy develops different stains in clay to create colorful ceramic tiles that mimic the look textiles and fabric wall hangings. She will also share how she conceives of her ideas, leading to a fascinating conversation about the world around us.
"Risa Hricovsky: Then Is Now" is on view in the Robyn and John Horn Gallery through April 28, 2024.
