About this Event
Join us at Arcana for an intimate Artist Conversation featuring two remarkable Bay Area creators, Alexandra Cicorschi and Dexandro Montalvo, whose work is connected through a rare and beautiful cycle of inspiration. Alexandra, born in Bucharest and now based in the region, creates abstract wall sculptures using reclaimed wood gathered from discarded household objects. The series on display began after she experienced one of Dexandro’s dance works, which moved her to explore themes of migration, fluidity, and transformation through her own medium.
Sharing the evening with her is Dexandro Montalvo, a New York born director, choreographer, dancer, and dance educator now living and working in San Francisco. His career includes work with Robert Moses Kin and many other companies, along with commissions for ODC, Liss Fain Dance Company, LINES Ballet Training Program, DanceWorks Chicago, and more. After seeing Alexandra’s ocean series, Dexandro created a dance performance in response, forming a dialogue between movement and sculpture. Their mutual influence reveals how art travels across disciplines and returns transformed. Guests are invited to join this conversation, ask questions, and connect with fellow art lovers in the warm atmosphere of Arcana.
