About this Event

Yoga for Arthritis: Gentle Movement for Joint Health & Wellbeing

Living with arthritis can bring daily challenges—stiff joints, inflammation, fatigue, and pain can limit movement and impact quality of life. Yoga, when practiced mindfully and safely, has been shown to provide significant benefits for people with arthritis.

What is Yoga for Arthritis?

Yoga for Arthritis is a gentle approach that combines physical movement, breathwork and relaxation techniques to support joint health, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing. These classes are designed specifically for people living with arthritis and related conditions.

Proven Benefits of Yoga for Arthritis

1. Improved Joint Flexibility & Mobility

  • Gentle stretching helps maintain or improve range of motion.
  • Supports better alignment and movement in daily activities.

2. Reduced Pain & Stiffness

  • Regular yoga practice can reduce pain perception.
  • Breath-led movement soothes nervous system responses that exacerbate pain.

3. Stronger Muscles

  • Yoga helps strengthen the muscles around joints, which provides better support and reduces pressure on inflamed areas.

4. Better Balance & Coordination

  • Arthritis can affect balance, especially in older adults. Yoga can help with reducing fall risk.

5. Stress & Fatigue Relief

  • Deep breathing and guided relaxation techniques help calm the mind.
  • Stress contributes to inflammation—managing it is key in arthritis care.

6. Improved Mood & Sleep

  • Studies show yoga can reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms, and promote better sleep in people with chronic pain conditions.
