Come to Graham Shay 1857 Galleries, located at 17 East 67th Street, for this special event just for Artful Buzz! Graham Shay 1857 is the perfect venue for enjoying a private viewing of their current exhibition, National Association of Women Artists (NAWA): The 135th Anniversary (on view: Mar 28-May 31, 2024)
NAWA, the oldest women artists' collective in the United States, has works all created before 1985 by over 50 female artists in this exhibition. You might recognize some of these famous artists in the show: Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1875-1942), Jane Peterson (1876-1965), Cecila Beaux (1855-1942), Doris Lee (1905-1983), Ida Ten Eyck O'Keeffe (1889-1961), Isabel Bishop (1902-1988), and Louise Nevelson (1899-1988). Many of the lesser-known artists will also register on your artful radar when you see all the talent on display.
As always, Artful Buzz brings art appreciation to another level for our members. Plans are currently in the works to also present an exclusive pre-recorded at the event, It will be a fascinating interview with a longtime personal friend of one of the famous artists in the show and she will give us the inside scoop!
There is so much to learn while we admire outstanding sculptures and paintings up close, listen to the stories of the art on view and about the artists who created them. There is limited space in the gallery, so act quickly to register and reserve a spot.
