The Coast Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council presents the 23rd season of Artesia Coffee HouseThe Coast Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council is excited to present the 23rd season of the Artesia Coffee House, returning to the Doris Crowston Gallery of the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt on Friday, January 17th at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6:45 pm, and tickets are available for $20 via Eventbrite or at the door, with a limited number set aside for in-person purchase. Delicious treats and beverages will also be available, with donations kindly accepted.
The evening promises an eclectic mix of performances, starting with ‘Paradox,’ a local high school band performing covers and original pieces. The band features Rhiannon Marsh on drums, Isla Nicholson on bass/vocals, Isaac Kelly on guitar, and Connor Murawsky on guitar. Next up, enjoy the bluesy vocals and percussive guitar style of Dee Brown, a Gibsons-based painter, writer, and musician who shifted from drumming to guitar a few years ago.
Following the break our spoken word feature is David Roche, C.M., author and humourist, who loves the Sunshine Coast, the artists, writers, performers, all the creative people who live here, the caring community, the Salish Sea, and the Gumboot Café. To close the evening, enjoy a soulful performance from James Meger, a top Vancouver bassist, and Mike Aganovitch, a highly sought-after guitarist, both of whom live in Roberts Creek. Their love of playing together and collaboration spans nearly two decades, offering a unique blend of folk and jazz influences with an emphasis on spontaneity and musical interplay.
