Join us for a midday ArtBreak with The William Cary Hulsey Curator of American Art, Katelyn D. Crawford. Crawford will give an overview on the work of Hayward Oubre, the subject of the BMA’s current exhibition, Hayward Oubre: Structural Integrity. Best known for his work with everyday materials—wire coat hangers— Oubre created modernist masterworks while living in Alabama and North Carolina. Crawford will provide further insight on this landmark exhibition, which is the first retrospective on the artist.
