Art2Heart and silent walk for black history month with H.E.R.O. and MAPPC
When: Saturday February 21st 2026 11am-2pm
Where: Somerville Community Baptist Church, 31 College avenue in Somerville, MA 02144
What: Poor People’s Campaign Massachusetts chapter is joining in with H.E.R.O. (Healing Empathy Redemption Oasis) Nurturing Centers yearly art event and short walk/outdoor ceremony.
How: This is an open and free community building event (but please register) with simple nature based art, music/sing-along, walk and lunch with information sharing about what’s new from H.E.R.O., PPC and other related orgs. Let’s just be together, build hope, love, resilience and have fun together.
Program for the day
11am - Gather in the Fellowship hall, music playing, coffee. Craft (rock painting, affirmation panels etc), chat and hang out.
12pm - Walk to Powderhouse park (very close, just 5-10 minutes) with a ceremony at the hill.
12:30pm - Sandwich lunch back at the church + information sharing
1:15pm - Song circle/sing-along
2pm - Goodbye, see you again soon! Remember to take your art pieces 🙂
