Shahina was born in India and moved to the United States in the 1970s. Though she built a career as a pharmacist, her passion for art has remained a constant thread throughout her life. A self-taught artist, Shahina has embraced the freedom to experiment with techniques and cultivate a style that is distinctly her own. She is best known for her work on large canvases, where her expressive brushstrokes transform empty space into vivid compositions. Painting is both a source of joy and a form of meditation for her—a way to quiet the mind and let creativity flow. Her practice spans multiple genres, including abstract, fluid, and realistic art, each piece guided by intuition and emotion in the moment.

It is such a privilege to have declared myself an artist after so many years of using my creativity in business ventures. My creative spirit is generous and has been on overdrive. Joyfully, I make art everyday! Blessed with a cornucopia of ideas in my curly redhead, I have emerged as a mixed medium artist! Anything is possible as I sketch on paper, paint on canvas, create with recycled objects and discuss my worldview with my unique characters. A quirky, outspoken, unstoppable risk taker, I am Tucker.

As an artist deeply rooted in the vibrant cultures of Puerto Rico and influenced by the dynamic pulse of New York City and South Florida, my work reflects a journey of self-discovery and resilience. From the moment I stepped into the bustling streets of New York at 17, I embraced the challenges and opportunities that life presented, allowing my experiences to shape my artistic vision.

While I studied photography in college, it is my self-taught exploration that has truly defined my multidisciplinary practice. Each click of the camera and every stroke of my brush carry the weight of my past and the unpredictability of fate, weaving together a narrative that is distinctly my own.

Throughout my artistic career, I have sought to create spaces for dialogue and connection, sharing my work in significant exhibitions both locally and globally. A highlight of my journey was participating in The Flag Project at Rockefeller Center, where art became a vehicle for community engagement and expression. This experience solidified my belief in the power of art to transcend boundaries and foster understanding.
