Rusty Jones is a fine art landscape painter known for capturing the rugged beauty of the American West, including scenes from Big Bend, the Grand Canyon, and the Rocky Mountains. He began his academic journey in pre-veterinary medicine at Texas A&M before pursuing art at the University of Texas at Austin and earning advanced degrees in Medical Illustration. For 24 years, Rusty worked as a leading medical illustrator while also developing his passion for painting landscapes. Now a full-time artist based in McKinney, Texas, he paints in the studio and on location, with work featured in several prominent galleries. He is currently offering a workshop titled Oil Painting: Intro to Values, Color Mixing, Layout, and Design on September 18–20 for $150 per attendee, which includes a free demonstration on September 18 from 9:30 AM to noon.
