Theme: Impressions of Night
Explore the beauty of the night sky through impressionist paintings by Lesser Ury and Vincent Van Gogh. Learn to capture the magic and illusion of starlit evenings on canvas with quick, short brushstrokes to create a sense of movement and light, focusing on the play of colors and overall impression rather than fine details.
Painting Options:
• Vincent Van Gogh, "Starry Night Over the Rhône" 1888
• Lesser Ury, "River Thames London, Moonlight" c. 1900s
Create unique art while enjoying wine and snacks. Our knowledgeable instructor blends individualized hands-on painting instruction with art history and technique lessons, while also creating a wonderful social and educational experience that encourages creativity. All supplies, two drinks, light snacks, and pre-prepared canvases are included in the cost of the workshop. Students will be asked to select their choice of inspirational paintings at registration.
