We will go to several art galleries and discuss the exhibitions, share our thoughts, and access different ways of thinking
About this Event

We start this social-commentary filled art tour with an exhibition about borders and war. In Helena Uambembe's mixed-media solo exhibition at the Anton Janizewski gallery, the artist engages with her own heritage through the waters of the Okavango River - bordering Angola and South Africa - and its animal inhabitants, as a way of reflecting on the violent history of colonial geographies. At the Nagel Draxler gallery, Jonas Fahrenberger's colourful collages and objet-trouvé interventions that stem from our urban surroundings make us reflect on the role of everyday objects by seeing them outside of their usual contexts.

Finally, we close with "Municipal Kitchens", a group exhibition at the nGbK gallery (neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst) that reimagines communal eating in cities. Mixing video work, installations, tapestry, audio and other media, this exhibition gathers works by international and local artists and collectives that expose the current state and injustice of food systems, as well as ones that propose new forms of community-based eating.
