We are looking forward to welcoming Julia Marwood to talk to us on Thursday 13th November, 7.30 to 9.30pm. Julia is an art historian who has given a number of fascinating talks in the area. This time she will be talking to us about Pierre Adolphe Valette, who was a French Impressionist painter who spent most of his career in England. His most acclaimed paintings are urban landscapes of Manchester, now in the collection of Manchester Art Gallery. Today, he is chiefly remembered as L. S. Lowry's tutor.
