About this Event
The grotesque and satirical have always had a place in art from its earliest iterations to the present. Artists have represented comical situations: poking fun at society’s foibles, and often at themselves. We’ll take a maddening tour through some of art history’s favorite “comedians,” including works by Fouquet, Bruegel, Hals, Messerschmidt, Goya, Daumier and Dubnau.
Robert Bunkin is a painter, curator, art historian, and educator, with a BS from CUNY and an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. He has taught art history and studio art in several NYC art schools, universities, colleges, and museums.
