Art Summer Camp at Studio Hue 53
Come join us for a fun-filled Art Summer Camp at Studio Hue 53! Get ready to unleash your creativity with a variety of art projects and activities. Our experienced instructor/owner (Angela Portillo) will guide you through painting, drawing, and more. This camp is perfect for young artists looking to explore different mediums and techniques. Make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast creating art! Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to express yourself and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Children must be at least 7 years of age on the first day of the camp to attend.
Program
Week 1 / First Half of the Day /Composition
We discuss the works of Piet Mondrian. We use straight lines and primary colors to compose and abstract collage
Week 1 / Second Half of the Day / Symbols & Line Types
We discuss the works of Joan Miro. We paint a variety of lines, shapes and symbols on top of a chalk print. We embellish our work with primary colored oil pastels.
Week 2 / First Half of the Day / Action
We discuss the works of Jackson Pollock. We drip and flick color shapes to create an action.
Week 2 / Second Half of the Day / Found Objects
We discuss the works of Louise Nevelson. We assemble found objects in an imaginative way and coat them with a single unifying paint color.
Week 3 / First Half of the Day / Organic Shapes
We discuss the works of Henri Matisse. We “draw with scissors” to create a variety of organic shapes. We compose an abstract paper collage with shapes.
Week 3 / Second Half of the Day / Large Scale Tracing
We discuss the works of Leonardo da Vinci. We trace and cut life size silhouettes of our bodies and embellish details to make self portraits.
Week 4 / First Half of the Day / Shapes, Patterns, and Color
We discuss the cubist portraits of Pablo Picasoo. We play with bold painted shapes, patterns and colors to make Picasso inspired portraits.
Week 4 / Second Half of the Day / Stamping and Repetition
We discuss several prints by Andy Warhol. We play and experiment with hand-printing, cutting and gluing to collage a graphic image with repeating handprints.
Materials
Studio Hue 53 will provide materials to students. Students are welcomed to bring
additional materials as they wish.
Registration
Part of registering student in Studio Hue 53’s art classes, a registration fee will be
applied at cost of $25 each year and is non-refundable.
Cost
$200 weekly payment, if campers cannot attend, there will be no refund. No lunch or snacks are included… but every Friday will be pizza day!
