You cannot be reborn without resistance; you cannot resist without being reborn.
Art Spoken Madrid's Black History Month Celebration, Black Resistance & Rebirth is an intersection between resistance and rebirth. How resistance to white supremacy, oppression, racism, stigmas, and stereotypes have caused Black people globally to reimagine, create, and thrive in spaces not made for them. Black people through the arts, culture, activism, and the sciences are extending boundaries to create new life at every turn.
ASM will celebrate how the African/Black Diaspora has resisted, is now resisting, how it's being reborn as culture is remembered, created, and celebrated through poetry, video, dance, and music.

En la celebración del Mes de la Historia Negra de Spoken Madrid, Black Resistance & Rebirth es una intersección entre resistencia y renacimiento. Cómo la resistencia a la supremacía blanca, la opresión, el racismo, los estigmas y los estereotipos han hecho que los negros de todo el mundo reimaginen, creen y prosperen en espacios que no están hechos para ellos. A través de las artes, la cultura, el activismo y las ciencias, los negros están ampliando las fronteras para crear una nueva vida a cada paso.
A SM celebrará cómo la diáspora africana/negra ha resistido, resiste ahora y renace a medida que la cultura se recuerda, se crea y se celebra a través de la poesía, el vídeo, la danza y la música.
