September 6th from 4-8 PM, we are hosting an art exhibition for Mental Health Awareness featuring ALL of original watercolors from Nichole Mix's book "Lost Parts from Out of the Shadows" on display at Artspace Hamilton Lofts and The Strauss Gallery. The event will have:
- Live Artists, some of which will have their art on display/for sale
- Live Music !
- Collaborative Art Painting Station
- Poetry Readings
- & More Entertainment TBA!
September is Suicide Awareness month & National Recovery Month! Madi's House will be there showing poster sized portraits of those we have lost to suicide, addiction and mental illness - to honor those who lost the inner battle and to advocate for those still fighting the war.
The intention of the event is to spread awareness for mental health through the expression of art as a healing modality. "Lost Parts from Out of the Shadows" is a poetry and art book birthed from a type of therapy that explores parts and belief systems from within. It encourages empathy and self acceptance, as well as highlighting the journey of wholeness and integration. The artwork is evocative and raw. At this event you will see all the original watercolors, other local artwork on display within the gallery, and a few artists set up showing their craft.
Please join us for an event that brings together other locals artists and musicians also using art and music as a way for self discovery and healing through life's experiences!
