Art Room for Educators

These one day workshops are designed for teachers to learn a variety of accessible techniques, experiment with mediums and create a body of work that becomes a toolkit for the year ahead.

Classes will empower educators to mindfully structure a creative session and support educational experiences to optimize what students gain from a class. Utilising creative practices as learning methods, the Art Room will assist you to design enriching experiences for individuals, which will enable transformation through creativity.

The series of events will be carried out at Manning Regional Art Gallery and Forster Civic Centre giving teachers across the MidCoast an opportunity to attend.

Each full day will be different, working with a professional artist who will pass on their skills in order for you to build a body of work. Your Art diary can be taken to each class to take notes, experiment with mediums and have samples of work to use as reference.

If you choose to partake in multiple sessions, your Art diary will be enriched as you work with a variety of artists over the 'Art Room' series.

We are thrilled to launch this exciting new initiative designed specifically for teachers who are interested in exploring creative practices and build their skills.

Held each month from September through to December 2024 the 'Expression Sessions' will host Professional artists offering their skills and classes for FREE to our community.

These Art Room classes are for teachers, funded by the Metal Manufacturers funds grant and brought to you by the Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery via TLE Electrical.

What to Expect:

• Build your skills: Learn new techniques, test out different mediums and explore a skill set you didn't know you had.
• Art Exploration: Immerse yourself in the Gallery’s latest exhibitions and be guided by professional artists.
• Art Room: Utilise this opportunity to speak with professional creatives living the life of a practicsing artist and gain their insight into the industry.
• Everything is provided Please just bring yourself.
