About this Event

Join the Portrait Gallery for a sip-and-craft pop-up in the museum’s courtyard. Facilitated by artist Khánh Lê, this program will encourage non-artists and creatives to find sources of inspiration through art and crafting while exploring contemporary works from the museum’s Triennial Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition.

Work from images found in family albums, magazines, digital photographs, and plastic jewels to explore aspects of your self-journey whether it is physical or emotional. By drawing from his work, She Waited for Her Family from This Point, this program provides a personal glimpse into Lê's portrait of his grandmother, and finds connections from lived experiences and memories.

*Bring digital photographs and images from your family albums or other troves to have scanned during the program to create your self-portrait.

The program is $20 covering two drink tickets for a glass of wine, beer, and/or a craft drink from the museum’s café and all materials and supplies are included.
