The art opening and reception for visiting artist Janne Larsen's show Tree Lines, will be on Saturday, December 14th from 11am-1pm, 2024. Join us at Icky Love Art Loft & Gallery in Kailua to meet Janne, view her collection created entirely from botanical inks she makes herself, and enjoy light refreshments.
About Janne Larsen:
Janne is an artist and educator that started on this path for forgaing for botanicals when her students were unable to name a single plant that grew around them. They began foraging together to make art supplies and through many successes and failures, Ms. Larsen’s Botanical Inks began. Larsen grew up on a farm and spent countless hours roaming the woods. It is her intention with this work to create a sense of mystery and curiosity about all the plants around us in the city, and country and field. Through Ms. Larsen’s Botanical Inks and Drinks, Larsen aims to foster a greater appreciation for local flora and promote sustainable practices. By turning excess produce into beautifully crafted inks and wines, she help individuals connect with the environment in a meaningful way, contributing to a more engaged and environmentally conscious community.
