Announcing a new and unique event for Billings!Spending time in nature is great for mental health – so is viewing and creating art! On September 20th, three different area non-profits are teaming up to help Billings residents experience both at a new event at John H Dover Memorial Park.
“Art on the River” is a partnership effort between Yellowstone River Parks Association, Billings Arts Association, and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Billings. Among the scenic trails and vistas of Dover Park, visitors will be able to observe artists in-process as they are inspired by nature and also participate directly in activities like kite-flying, nature journaling, meditation, yoga, and bird watching.
The event also will include the wrap-up and celebration of the year-long kite exhibit “Go with the Flow: A Tribute to YRPA” and will include a showing and possibly flying of a number of the exhibit’s kites.
Activities take place from 10am to 2pm. Artist work will
be auctioned off after the event, with proceeds to benefit
YRPA and NAMI. A full schedule of activities and more
information can be found at www.yrpa.org/art-at-the-river
