About this Event
Join us on Thursday, November 22 from 6–8 PM for the next Art on the Avenue, where local artists take center stage.
Art on the Avenue is a quarterly program that brings local artists and the community together, offering a chance to explore, connect, and purchase original artwork.
Dana Powell-Smith – Lines of Meaning: The Art of Simplicity (4th Floor Gallery)
Dana, following in the footsteps of her grandmother Georgette Seabrooke Powell, continues a family legacy of artistry. Her work explores the resilience of Black and Brown communities across the nation, using deceptively simple mixed media pieces to spark reflection on identity, culture, and everyday life. Dana’s art has been featured in galleries including Newfields/Indianapolis Museum of Art and in public spaces around Indianapolis.
Juan – Something Simple (1st Floor Gallery / Coffee Pot Lounge)
Juan is an emerging Indiana artist who discovered his love for creating in the first grade. His work is a celebration of the creative process, simple yet full of feeling. He has shown his art in Philadelphia, Cincinnati’s Contemporary Art Center, and during downtown Indianapolis NBA All-Star Weekend.
Register for free, and join us for an evening of art and conversation.
