ABOUT THE PROGRAMLearn the meaning of the Tarot cards by actively working with your favorite published explanation of a card and creating your own image using collage, hand drawn artistry or digital mediums. All levels welcome!
This workshop will deal primarily with the twenty two Major Arcana cards of the tarot deck.
The goal of the class will be the creation of one to three Major Arcana cards of the participant’s choice. If the student is familiar with the deck and has a minor arcana card they wish to explore, then by all means they are free to do so.
Each Tarot artist will work from a tarot deck author/illustrator of their choice. Several books and tarot decks of various styles will be available for inspiration and browsing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will explore the history of Tarot, the structure of the deck, and the symbolism embedded in its imagery. Through hands-on activities, participants will be guided through the process of creating their own Tarot cards, working with both the artistic and symbolic elements of Tarot.
