Certified teacher of Sogetsu Ikebana Keith Stanley will demonstrate the Art of Japanese
Flower Arranging. In his demonstration he will explain differences in western and
eastern flower design, techniques and have a focus on sustainable ways to create
avant-garde flower art.
Keith Stanley is a Washington, DC floral designer and educator. He’s also a resident of
Capitol Hill. For 39 years he has worked in retail and special event floristry, and also
doing demonstrations and workshops. Currently he is a Teaching Coach for the
European Master Certification program (a floral design school in based in Bruges,
Belgium), which he graduated from in 2016. He earned the International Master Florist
accreditation from Gregor Lersch at Boerma Institute In March 2022. In addition, he is a
certified teacher for the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Structural botanical design is his
passion, and recently has created large scale works for the 2022 Floralien in Ghent,
Belgium and also Hoogstraten Groeten and Blomen in Hoogstraten, Belgium.

QUEERING SOUND features vibrant + unapologetically queer, non-binary + post-gender talents – from the DMV region, across the nation + internationally – who push outside + beyond the socially - accepted boundaries of contemporary sound + vision. Over the past 25 years, QUEERING SOUND has presented well over 100 artists at nine local venues + online.
