Art Meets Jazz Returns For A Fall Series!
Experience the harmonious blending of ‘Art Meets Jazz’ at Beebe's at the Gallery and the C. Stuart and Jane H. Hunt Gallery — an exceptional and one-of-a-kind event that we came to enjoy. Treat yourself to a uniquely captivating art gallery encounter, complemented by the entertaining sounds of live jazz music.
This event is set to provide a unique gallery experience, brought to you through the collaborative efforts of Tony Zambito, producer of the renowned Art of Jazz Series and founder of JazzBuffalo, and Peter Hunt (Hunt Realty), esteemed sponsor of the Art of Jazz Series.
Join their efforts to invigorate Downtown Buffalo by bringing life, art, music, and cultural excellence to the beautiful Hunt Art Gallery connected to the new event venue Beebe’s at the Gallery. Both are connected through a wrap-around corner location in the iconic architecture gem, the Brisbane Building. (The entrance to this unique gallery and event venue location is at the corner of Washington Street and Lafayette Square.)

December 18: "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by Vince Guaraldi featuring the Ed Croft Trio
*A $20 ticket provides you admission to the gallery, live music, and a selection of delectable small plates available for purchase. A cash bar offering beer, wine, and drinks will be available throughout the event. About The Jazz
Carlos Habiague is the dazzling figure who, with his renowned charisma and his light lyric voice, captivates the audience on every stage.” Born in Argentina, the award-winning Carlos has become one of the world’s most renowned singers in the authentic style and language of Argentine Tango. He has performed internationally with some of the top musicians and dancers who perform International Argentine Tango. Studying from the young age of 8 years old the classic styles of traditional Argentinean ballads, folklore, boleros, and Argentine Tango.
Carlos Habiague has established himself as one of the greatest current exponents of Tango in festivals in Argentina, standing out in other genres, such as lyric singing and ballad. He also made 17 international tours in four continents, countries such as the USA, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Germany, and Bolivia.
Moshe Shulman (bandoneon; musical director) is a composer and performer of classical music, Argentine tango, klezmer, and Gypsy music performing on violin, viola, and bandoneon. Led the Baires Klezmer Orchestra in Buenos Aires, Argentina and formed Buffalo Tango Orkestra. Winner and recipient of prestigious composition contests like The American Prize and 2015 Harvard Fromm Commission. Toured with “Tango Argentina 2022” show as a solo bandoneon player (www.mosheshulman.com)
Ivan Docenko (piano) is one of the best-known accompanists and versatile musicians in Western New York. He is a staff accompanist at Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY with more than 30 years of experience accompanying singers of all genres, and a pianist for the Buffalo Tango Orkestra. Born in Buffalo to an Argentine mother who had a career as a singer and performer, Ivan immersed the tango style from the very beginning.

Vanessa Vacanti is an emerging talent in the jazz community, quickly gaining recognition for her vocal abilities. A recent graduate of SUNY Fredonia (BFA/Musical Theatre), Vanessa has become a fixture in jazz communities across the state, performing at events like Syracuse Jazz Fest, Fulton Jazz Fest, Lake Ontario Wine and Jazz Fest, and the Jazz By The Lake series in Oswego. She regularly collaborates with The Jazz Mafia Trio, her go-to backing band, creating an electric synergy that captivates both musicians and audiences alike.
Her performances are marked by a commanding stage presence and innovative arrangements of jazz standards, along with unique takes on pop tunes, influenced by her background in musical theatre. Vanessa currently studies with renowned jazz vocalist Nancy Kelly and has also trained under Kim Nazarian, a founding member of New York Voices. While these influences are evident in her style, Vanessa has developed a distinctive jazz voice that sets her apart.
This event will showcase the Ed Croft Trio as they perform the cherished music composed by Guaraldi.
The Ed Croft Trio, led by bassist Ed Croft, a multiple winner and nominee in the annual JazzBuffalo Poll for individual performer, rising star, and jazz artist of the year, will headline the event. Joining Croft is the exceptionally versatile pianist Ivan Docenko, renowned in the region for his musical prowess. The extraordinary drummer, Wasik, completes the trio. Throughout the performance, Ed Croft will guide the session with storytelling, sharing anecdotes about Guaraldi and the creation of this classic album.
