About this Event
Join me at The Corner Art Collective for an Art Therapy workshop designed specifically for teens ages 13-17 that have been impacted by parental/guardian incarceration. This event offers a safe space for self-expression, healing, and creativity through various art forms. Participants will engage in a therapeutic art activity led by an experienced Art Therapist, fostering emotional well-being and connection with others who share similar experiences. Come and explore the power of art in processing emotions and building resilience in a supportive environment. The theme for this workshop is Strength. No art experience necessary, just an open mind and willingness to explore! There are couches in the front of the gallery for loved ones to wait until the session finishes.
About Me:
I am a Masters and Art Therapy Registered-Provisional level Art Therapist. I am also the daughter of an incarcerated parent, so I know firsthand what it is like to experience this adversity.
As the Art Therapist at MossRehab Institute for Brain Health, an Avalon Action Alliance program, I serve veterans and first responders with mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries/concussions and associated psychological disorders. I obtained my Master of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling with an Art Therapy Specialization from Thomas Jefferson University. I completed my Practicum and Internship in inpatient and outpatient settings at Magee Rehabilitation in Center City, Philadelphia, and have four years of experience working in addiction treatment settings.
