Feeling creative and wanting people to create with? Come to Art in the Park!A small private gathering on the first Sunday of the month (except May, which will be the second Sunday as I'll be away on the first), weather permitting, I'll be on the esplanade making art - and I'd love for you to come join me :)
No experience or expertise needed, this is an opportunity for some creative play - come sit and chat and draw with no pressure or expectations.
I'll have big paper for some communal drawing (maybe like the one in the event picture, but they're always so different!), small paper if you want to do your own, some mandala colouring sheets if that's more your thing, and some art supplies you can use.
This is free - a donation is welcome and appreciated if you're using my supplies, but not necessary if that's out of reach for you right now.
Bring whatever you need to feel comfy - a cushion, a picnic mat, maybe you'd like to bring your own journal or art supplies if you have them. Drinks and snacks if you want them!
If you don't know me yet, here's a bit about me - I'm Ellen, and I'm fairly new to Cairns (I arrived in June last year) and I'm loving it here. Cairns called me here for some reason (not sure why yet, but I'm committed to staying until I find out!).
I'm an art therapist and life transitions coach - helping people navigate big and small life changes that come their way. I love whimsy and wonder and surreal and serendipitous happenings, and I'm also grounded and practical. I love road trips and being outside, and I love making art with others! Which is how Art in the Park came to be :)
Please mark yourself as 'going' if you're going to come (or send me a message) so I can have a vague idea of who to expect :)
We'll be near the carpark next to the tennis courts, near Upward St.
