Its plot makes clear that Shyamalan’s talent for crafting complex psychological thrillers remains intact. Bruce Willis plays a seemingly hapless guy who is somehow immune to harm. Then a stranger (Samuel L. Jackson) shows up to guide Willis on a supernatural journey toward self-discovery.
