Stephen Frear’s 2013 dramedy “Philomena” stars Judi Dench in the lead role. Decades earlier, while she was living in a convent, the son she barely knew was taken from her. It’s critical acclaim includes five BAFTAs (the UK equivalent of the Oscars), winning for Best Adapted Screenplay (which was co-written by Coogan), and four Oscar nominations (Best Picture, Actress, Adapted Screenplay, and Score). Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder, and host a post-viewing discussion.
