Mel Brooks' fantastic comedy mystery "is dedicated to the Master of Suspense Alfred Hitchcock". Brooks not only directed, produced & co-wrote the picture, he stars as Dr. Richard Thorndyke, a psychiatrist taking over at the Psycho-Neurotic Institute for the Very, Very Nervous, where he isn't exactly welcomed with open arms by Nurse Diesel (Cloris Leachman). The film is modeled off Hitchcock's Spellbound with a heavy dose of Vertigo. But many more Hitchcock films are referenced, from Psycho and The Birds to North By Northwest (where lead actor Cary Grant plays Roger Thornhill) in this hilarious masterpiece. Instructor Paul Marino will introduce the film, raise questions to ponder and host a post-viewing discussion. Sponsored by Chases on the Beach – Where It’s Always Sunny.
Fee: $10 includes a glass of wine, or bottle of beer.
