About this Event
Join BRAC for a family-friendly day of creativity, ecology, and community care on Saturday, October 4th, 2025.
This three-part event invites neighbors of all ages to explore and protect our urban forest — including at the Bronx River Community Garden near our West Farms studio — through art, action, and storytelling.
Nature Printmaking Workshop (12 - 1:30 PM)
Create beautiful, nature-inspired prints using leaves and found objects! Learn about patterns and textures in the environment while making your own take-home artwork.
Plant a Tree (1:30 - 3 PM)
Join us as we give back to the Bronx by planting a new tree and learning how trees support healthy air, water, and communities. We’ll walk over to our friends at Bronx River Community Garden for this activity.
BRAC Storytime: The Lorax! (3 - 3:30 PM)
Wind down the day with cozy, nature-inspired stories back at BRAC — perfect for kids and families! For City of Forest Day, we will be featuring the Dr. Seuss classic The Lorax, to inspire environmental conservation in our kiddos.
Rain Plan: Indoor programming will continue as scheduled. Tree planting will be rescheduled for the following Saturday.
This event is part of the fourth annual City of Forest Day, a citywide celebration of NYC’s urban forest and our shared role in caring for it.
