In the last lecture of this series, we’ll focus on the representation of African-Americans in 19th century art by looking at the work of artists such as Eastman Johnson, Winslow Homer, and Henry Ossawa Tanner, among others. We’ll also look at contemporary artists who help define race and representation in our own time such as Kehinde Wiley, Amy Sherald, and Kerry James Marshall.
