About this Event
In observance of LBGTQIA+ Suicide Prevention Awareness Day, WhatsintheMirror? presents its 3rd Annual Arts Heals Festival including the 6th Annual BlaQ Awards. This three day multidisciplinary art festival will highlight social justice issues and advocate to eliminate HIV and mental health stigma through a healing justice framework starting September 30th, 2022 through October 2nd, 2022 at Atelier 1205 in Austin, Texas.
The goals of the Art Heals Festival are to:
- Provide an inclusive and impactful platform that engages the community around social justice topics through artistic expression
- Celebrate black queer contributions to the art and social community in Austin
- Hold brave spaces for meaningful involvement of people living with HIV and/or mental health conditions and all gender identities and body types
The festival will also feature the following artists and more
Blaq Awards Ceremony honoring Sha’NIyah Baltimore, Tia Boyd and others.
Performances by Theo Love, Babiboi, House of Lepore, and others.
DJ sets from DJ CYSUM, Visual Art, and Stage Reading.
Free testing with KIND CLINIC and more to be announced.
