Sovern is pleased to present a special conversation between two creative powerhouses, Dominique Clayton and Samira Ibrahim. Both women have started their own businesses, including art galleries, creative consulting, pr, and art advisory from the ground up. Through their shared love of art and community, Dominique and Samira have created a number of successful opportunities for artists and clients, and both will discuss their journeys, the importance of intentional collaboration, and the intersection of art, fashion, music, and entertainment.

Founder of Dominique Gallery + Freelance Arts Writer

DOMINIQUE is a gallery and arts incubator founded in 2015 by Dominique Clayton, an African-American arts manager and writer. Founded in the West Adams neighborhood in her hometown of Los Angeles, the space has exhibited solo and group exhibitions by emerging and mid-career artists from Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore, Atlanta, and Toronto, featuring a wide range of artists with diverse artistic practices. The gallery is committed to diversity and representation, intentionally holding space for emerging artists of color, women, and artists raising children.

Samira Ibrahim

Driven by an insatiable curiosity for life and culture, Samira channels her ability to catalyze cross-industry dialogues through her creative communications firm AMALIA Consulting & Art Development firm GOLIATH.

Her practice stems from a decade-plus career of being in the business of identity; turning dreams into dogma, distilling personality into plans, and launching conversations into the cultural canon.

What draws Samira to the arts is the artists. At the heart of her approach lies a belief in the seamless integration of art, fashion, music, and entertainment into our everyday lives, a philosophy that has led Samira to work with leading luxury brands and worldly talent.

She’s curated compelling collaborations, redefined the landscape of image management, audience expansion & creative strategy with big businesses & fine and visual artists. Her clients and collaborators have included The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, Interscope, NETFLIX, The Getty Museum, June Ambrose, PUMA, ICA San Jose, Gallery Dept. and more.
