About this Event
Meet others who share your passion for Felixstowe, its creativity and its creatures.
Felixstowe is full of creativity, care, and curiosity, and these meetups offer a welcoming space for everyone who feels connected to the town’s land, sea, rivers, sky, and histories.
Join us to share a passion, a project, or a simple spark of interest related to the environment or nature connection. Explore what matters most in a changing world, and imagine creative ways to shape a thriving future for all.
This event is free - but you are asked to bring a personal object, image, poem, or sound that reflects your connection to art, community and ecology.
It can be something you’ve made, something you’ve found, or something that simply inspires you.
These friendly sessions are open to everyone - residents, workers, visitors, business owners, and families. All are warmly welcome to take part.
What will happen?
After short but inspiring talks by experts we will mix with others, sharing stories about the things we have brought with us. Free drinks and snacks will be provided.
Speakers
In this first event Bridget McKenzie will will talk about how regenerative and imaginative approaches can help transform places, drawing on her work in Norwich and introducing practical tools to navigate tensions.
We will also be joined by Felixstowe's own Dr Adrian Cooper who will introduce the Community Nature Reserve and the Citizen Science Group in Felixstowe, followed by a summary of recent collaborative map-making work that brings together the arts and sciences.
This event is part of Reimagine This Coastal Town, a Furtherfield project. Explore new ways of seeing, feeling, being, and belonging in coastal communities.
