About this Event
The LSO’s season closes with a celebration of how art inspires art. In addition to hearing masterful classical music, take time to explore our Community Art Gallery in which young artists from around our county have created works inspired by Mussorgsky's beloved work, Pictures at an Exhibition.
You’ll hear joyous music by Alberto Ginastera, the leading Argentinian composer of the twentieth century and Jessie Montgomery, the GRAMMY-winning acclaimed violinist, composer and educator whose works have been described by The Washington Post as “turbulent, wildly colorful and exploding with life.” The program also includes Pictures at an Exhibition, which Mussorgsky’s wrote as a memorial to his friend, the Russian artist Victor Hartmann and Suite from Mother Goose which Ravel was inspired to write in response to the well-known fairytale.
Seating - Doors open at 7:00 PM. The program will include intermission and run for approximately 1.45 hours. Seating is "general admission."
