About this Event
Become a member of ART CLUB! Work with artists, make art!
Join WA's own singer-songwriter-artist extraordinaire Felicity Groom after school in Term 4 to explore songwriting, music recording and the art of the songbook. In this one of a kind workshop series, participants will be guided in deep listening to the sounds and stories around them, with an opportunity to connect with stories from residents about the area. Participants will document their process over the eight weeks to create a beautiful songbook to take home, as well as ample experimentation with recording and mixing songs in GarageBand.
This hands-on workshop will spark creativity, build technical skills and explore the art of storytelling through sound.
During these ART CLUB workshops, children will:
- Explore different ways of listening to and interpreting sound
- Record and sample sounds from around Atwell House using GarageBand
- Compose their own music tracks
- Learn bookbinding techniques to create their very own songbook to take home.
Dates: Every Monday afternoon, from 13 October to 8 December (no session on 27 October)
Time: 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm each week
Venue: Atwell House
