This winter, Art Club is warming up with new workshops and a bar. Each week offers a standing invitation to explore and create across our campus. Stop by the Art Lab for drop-in art-making with Walker educators. Every week is a chance to experiment with a new medium, idea, or muse. A cash bar is available in the lobby so you can sip while you create. This week, you can explore the influence light has on color through the work seen in the exhibition Stanley Whitney: How High the Moon. Employing a robust drawing practice, Whitney uses sketchbooks to explore how colors and patterns interact before moving on to his larger works. Explore his process with a twist: blind coloring under red lights, making your color palette a mystery.
Activity instructions, available in English and Spanish, are designed for ages 4 and up. Materials are provided and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; supplies are limited. No prior registration is required for Art Club: the more you visit, the more you’ll discover.
Free Thursday Nights are sponsored by Principal Foundation.
