Free Bird Cafe Chiang Mai presents: ART CLUBCome reconnect with your inner child and spend an evening creating! Bring a project you’ve been working on, a general idea, or just yourself — with three hours set aside to make something beautiful.
This is for anyone who:
*Wants to work on their own art, but in the company of others. You’re welcome to sit quietly and focus, or chat while you stitch, paint, glue, cut, print, or collage.
*Wants to explore different materials without the expense of buying them all, or for those traveling without their supplies.
*Has always wanted to try making art but isn’t sure where to start.
*Needs a change of scenery to feel inspired again.
For our first session, we’ll have a variety of art materials available and lots of cozy seating in our upstairs workshop space, The Perch. You’re free to explore for a materials fee of 250 THB. If you’re bringing your own project to work on, we just ask that you purchase a drink from the café.
Going forward, we plan to host these gatherings twice a month — one open studio like this, and another guided workshop exploring themes like printmaking, bookmaking, watercolor, collage, and junk journaling. Our goal is to build a community of casual artists who inspire and support one another.

The event is facilitated by Lisa, owner of Free Bird Cafe — a certified K–12 art instructor (in a former life) who after teaching in the states, spent 15 years leading a language and art learning center for refugees from Burma. She’s a lifelong creative who has recently reconnected with her own love of making art and wants to share that joy with others.
Open to all genders and age 18+ (we may do children's events in the future but this isn't for them).

นำโปรเจกต์ที่คุณกำลังทำอยู่ ไอเดียในหัว หรือแค่มาตัวเปล่า — กับสามชั่วโมงที่ตั้งใจไว้เพื่อ “สร้าง” ในแบบของคุณเอง
กิจกรรมนี้เหมาะสำหรับทุกคนที่:
• อยากทำงานศิลปะของตัวเอง แต่ก็อยากอยู่ท่ามกลางคนอื่น ๆ ด้วย คุณสามารถเลือกนั่งเงียบ ๆ จดจ่อกับงานของคุณ หรือพูดคุยขณะเย็บ ปั้น ระบายสี ตัด ปริ้นท์ หรือทำคอลลาจก็ได้
• อยากทดลองวัสดุศิลปะหลายแบบ โดยไม่ต้องลงทุนซื้อทั้งหมด หรือสำหรับคนที่เดินทางมาโดยไม่มีอุปกรณ์ของตัวเอง
• อยากลองทำงานศิลปะแต่ไม่รู้จะเริ่มต้นตรงไหน
• ต้องการเปลี่ยนบรรยากาศเพื่อสร้างแรงบันดาลใจอีกครั้ง
สำหรับคลาสแรกของเรา จะมีวัสดุศิลปะให้เลือกใช้อย่างหลากหลาย พร้อมที่นั่งแสนอบอุ่นในพื้นที่จัดเวิร์กชอปชั้นบนของเรา “The Perch”
คุณสามารถใช้วัสดุเหล่านี้ได้อย่างอิสระ โดยมีค่าใช้จ่ายเพียง 250 บาท
หากคุณนำงานของตัวเองมาทำ เพียงสั่งเครื่องดื่มจากคาเฟ่ก็เพียงพอแล้ว 💛
ต่อจากนี้ เราวางแผนจะจัดกิจกรรมแบบนี้เดือนละสองครั้ง — ครั้งหนึ่งเป็น “open studio” เหมือนรอบนี้ และอีกครั้งเป็น “workshop” ที่มีการแนะนำเทคนิคต่าง ๆ เช่น การพิมพ์ภาพ การทำสมุดศิลป์ สีน้ำ คอลลาจ และสมุดบันทึกจากวัสดุเหลือใช้ จุดประสงค์คือเพื่อสร้าง “ชุมชนของศิลปินสมัครเล่น” ที่มาแลกเปลี่ยนแรงบันดาลใจและสนับสนุนกันและกัน

กิจกรรมนี้จัดโดย ลิซ่า เจ้าของ Free Bird Café — อดีตครูสอนศิลปะระดับอนุบาลถึงมัธยมปลายที่เคยสอนในสหรัฐฯ ก่อนจะมาทำงานด้านการศึกษาและศิลปะเพื่อผู้ลี้ภัยจากพม่าเป็นเวลากว่า 15 ปี เธอเป็นคนที่รักงานสร้างสรรค์มาตลอดชีวิต และตอนนี้กลับมาค้นพบความสุขในการทำศิลปะอีกครั้ง พร้อมอยากแบ่งปันแรงบันดาลใจนี้ให้ทุกคน
เปิดรับทุกเพศ อายุ 18 ปีขึ้นไป
(ในอนาคตอาจมีกิจกรรมสำหรับเด็ก แต่รอบนี้ยังไม่ใช่สำหรับพวกเขานะคะ)
