Award-Winning Comedy ART Takes Center Stage at ACUD THEATERProximity Productions Theater Collective is thrilled to announce its upcoming presentation of ART, the acclaimed comedy by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. This award-winning play explores friendship, art, and the humorous tensions that arise between close friends over something as seemingly simple as a painting.
The story follows three friends—Serge, Marc, and Yvan—whose bonds are tested when one buys an expensive, entirely white painting. What begins as a debate over the value of the artwork soon spirals into a hilarious and raw examination of each friend’s insecurities, values, and the complexities of long-standing friendships.
