We will cover pattern layout, the techniques of dot making, and making patterns to create floral images. The end result will be a 4”x4” canvas with a simple to learn floral pattern created from dots, plus the know-how to continue forward!All materials provided for this class.
About the Instructor: Jolene Hassard is a visual artist from Nanoose Bay who paints with acrylics in the style of dotillism. Her subject matter – be it a coastline, an animal, a moment – is celebrated by creating an intricate and detailed background with a colourful design created from thousands of dots. This Mandala-like pattern contrasts and therefore highlights the starker silhouette of the subject itself. She also creates Mandala-style pen and ink drawings which she has re-created as murals.
