Kaapsehoop Art Awakening WorkshopDiscover and develop your inner artist during an enchanting creative art workshop in the picturesque historical village of Kaapsehoop in Mpumalanga. The natural, undisturbed beauty of the surrounding mountain landscape and smalltown country hospitality is the perfect setting for a short and revitalising artist’s retreat.
Arrive on Thursday and be coached and guided by professional artist Hannah Trichardt for three days, consisting of 5 art workshops which culminates in your completed masterpiece to take home. Various disciplines of art will be coached, including preparatory charcoal sketching, handling of subject matter, composition, shapes, tones and values, and finally preparing and executing an acrylic painting on canvas.
Artists are accommodated in charming guest cottages in the village, and wholesome fresh country meals are served between the workshops prepared by Bohemian Groove Café Restaurant. The workshop will be making use of the stunning natural surroundings for inspiration, so short walks will be part of the daily routine. We will visit some historical sites as well as some breathtaking scenic viewpoints, introduce you some interesting local personalities and show you our wild horses, who roam freely around the village.
Arrive on a Thursday afternoon at 13h00, and depart on Sunday morning at your own pace. It is highly recommendable to spend the Sunday in the village, enjoy a lunchtime live music show at Bohemian or engage in an outdoor activity like birdwatching, horse riding, scootours or walking trails.
