Enjoy an day of nourishment and exploration through traditional song, dance and Q&A’s, followed by an Art Auction benefiting The Wirarika Sacred Water Project.
From 3pm-5:30 nourishment your body at Gaya NoMaya‘s Organic , Sustainable Restaurant , Bar & Elixir Bar. Book a Sauna, Infared Sauna or Himalayan Salt Cave Session prior to the beginning of the festivities.
From 5:30-8:30 enjoy traditional Wirarika music & dance followed by a Q&A with Marakame Modesto Rivera .
Modesto Rivera comes from a lineage of the Wixarika People of Nayarit. Modesto was born in a Wixárika community in the high mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental, coming from an unbroken lineage of Marakames he started his studies at an early age under his parents and followed the sacred path throughout his entire life, learning all about the Wixárika cosmology, music, and art. Modesto is a gifted musician who has received and written many of the traditional Wixárika chants, his ceremonies are led by the violin and the traditional canari guitar and dance. Modesto is a Wisdom Keeper of over 6000 years of Tradition that offers us an Opportunity for Healing and Manifesting Beauty in our lives .
From 8:30 -10pm join in community as we showcase and auction off Modesto’s Visionary Medicine Art Work. All profits sold will go to the Wirarika Sacred Water Project As well as funding for a small piece of land, an Artisinal Well and caring for the Wixarika Elders. This Well will be sustainably used by their whole community, providing clean water for themselves and their garden.
